Russia’s leadership is counting on the young generation which has a chance to prove themselves in this difficult time for the country, said Lugansk People’s Republic Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik in the course of the enlightenment marathon of the Russian Knowledge Society.    “The theme of the marathon – “Knowledge. The First”  - is very symbolic.” It’s about the leaders, the first ones, those who probably have it harder than anyone because they have to make decisions on the vector of movement and lead the people,” Pasechnik said. “It is these personalities that Russia and the Republic need. “   “The time we live in is far from simple, but it is the time of opportunities to prove oneself, to show one’s best, one’s talents.<...>  Tremendous bets are placed on young people by the leadership of our big country and the leadership of the Lugansk People’s Republic. Young people are always the most active part of the population. They really see shortcomings that have to be corrected,” he said.   Communication with outstanding personalities within the framework of the marathon gives young people the opportunity to adopt their valuable experience and then use it for the good of Donbass, the LPR leader said.   LPR participants in the marathon heard the online address by First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office Sergey Kiriyenko.   He said that ”an economic, information and psychological war is being waged against Russia, a war of endless lies, fakes and the attempt to tear us away from our history, from what have believed in and for what our ancestors fought.”   “It is a time of action, because when this civilizational challenge is issued, the aim of those who are trying to fight Russia today is clear: they want Russia to cease to exist, at least to cease to exist as a self-sufficient, sovereign and powerful state.  It means a challenge to each of us,” Kiriyenko said.   At his proposal, the marathon participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the servicemen killed in the special military operation.   ***   The three-day marathon of the Russian Knowledge Society is being hosted by Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Arkhangelsk, Pyatigorsk and Lugansk.   The topic of the first day is Action Time.
