Eight special military operation veterans from the Lugansk People’s Republic have had rehabilitation therapy at the Perezagruzka facility in the Tula region, said First Channel correspondent Irina Kuksenkova.   “Twenty people including eight from the LPR have come for the fourth shift; the next starts on July 7,” Kuksenkova  told the Lugansk Media Center.   “The first element of our camp is medical rehabilitation and involvement in any sport activity. Of no less importance is the assistance in receiving all the documents <…> crucial to the fighters. You cannot hope for complete rehabilitation if you lack a Russian passport.   Our team’s task is to make sure that all our veterans enjoy the rights of full-fledged Russian citizen,” she said in comments on the first short-term results.   During the fourth shift, assistance was provided to SVO veterans in obtaining Russian citizenship and getting Russian documents and individual rehabilitation programs with prosthetic care.   Each serviceman was consulted by representatives of the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office, Investigative Committee, Health Ministry and regional Labor Ministry.    Earlier reports said that more than 100 LPR servicemen who sustained serious injuries would have rehabilitation as part of the SVO Veterans Support Service project implemented by the All-Russia People’s Front social movement.   The project was developed in August 2022 at Kuksenkova’s initiative. The Tula region authorities organized the first rehabilitation facility for wounded SVO veterans in the town of Alexin in November 2022. In late 2022, it provided treatment to four fighters from the DPR and three from the LPR who received prosthetic implants. In April, the SVO Veterans Support Service launched a bot service to aid seriously wounded fighters.   Kuksenkova said that the SVO Veterans Support Service would send servicemen from the LPR and DPR for rehabilitation to the Yasenki center in the Moscow region, at the invitation of regional governor Andrey Vorobyov. At present, nine SVO servicemen are taking a rehabilitation course at the Yasenki facility.   ***   President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.   The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
