Engineers demine more than 3,000 hectares in LPR in 2022, render 74,000 ammunition rounds harmless
Lugansk People’s Republic engineers have completed mine clearance operations on more than 3,000 hectares of LPR territory rendering harmless more than 74,000 rounds of ammunition this year, said LPR Emergencies Minister, Civil Defense Major-General Yevgeny Katsavalov.
“Mine rescue teams have contained 13 accidents in the designated period saving and demothballing some 11 million rubles worth of assists; emergency response medical teams made 91 trips to help 85 personnel,” Katsavalov said adding that eight people had been rescued on water bodies.
Earlier, the LPR Emergencies Ministry reported that LPR and Russian engineers had checked nearly 3,000 hectares of territory in the period from February 24 to November 14, 2022 rendering harmless more than 73,000 explosive hazards.
LPR engineers found and defused 117 ammunition rounds in 2021 and more than 700 in 2020.*i*v
