The Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) has signed government contracts for road maintenance in the new Russian territories, Rosavtodor told the Lugansk Media Center.
“The agency, together with dedicated bodies, works on bringing federal roads in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in compliance with Russian norms,” Rosavtodor said.
The agency is currently responsible for 1,039 kilometers of roads including 445.9 kilometers in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
The key roads link the new territories with Russia’s the Belgorod, Rostov and Voronezh regions.
Rosavtodor’s Novorossiya Roads Department Head Serazhutdin Aigumov noted their “good or satisfactory condition.”
Road network diagnostics will help identify the stretches which require repairs. “At present, we resurface roads wherever necessary, install road signs and renew road markings as part of maintenance works,” Aigumov said. *i*ie
