The Investigative Committee Department for the Lugansk People’s Republic has instituted criminal proceedings against the first deputy head of the Krasnodon district administration on suspicion of taking a large bribe, the SK press service reported.
“The suspect demanded monthly kickbacks from the husband of a local entrepreneur at a personal meeting in November 2022, promising unhindered passenger transportation business in the Krasnodon district,” the press service said.
In March, police detained the official after he had taken a 165,000-ruble bribe from the businesswoman’s husband in Krasnodon. The investigators who have questioned the detainee will ask the court to place him under house arrest in pre-trial restriction, the SK said.
In October 2022, SK chairman Alexander Bastrykin signed the decree on establishing SK branches in the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
