Lugansk People’s Republic authorities have renamed Saint-Etienne Street in Lugansk to Denis Ivanov Street, in memory of the hero of Russia killed in action earlier this month, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.
Denis Ivanov, call sign “Tashkent” died in the performance of his duty on July 17. A true Russian warrior joined the Immortal Regiment, Pasechnik said on Telegram. “To perpetuate the memory of the officer for our grandchildren and great-grandchilden, a decision was made to change the name of a central Lugansk street.”
“Tashkent” has been defending the LPR since 2014. He won the respect of his colleagues with his courage and covered himself in glory as a legendary commander. He led 123rd Brigade fighters in fierce victorious clashes for Rubezhnoye, Severodonetsk and Lisichansk and defended the LPR after its liberation, the LPR leader said.
