LPR election commissions to be connected to State Automated System by June
The Election Commission and territorial election commissions of the Lugansk People's Republic will be connected to the State Automated System “Vybory” (elections) by the election campaign, an LPR election official told the Lugansk Media Center.
On Monday, Central Election Commission Chairwoman Ella Pamfilova said the new territories were preparing for the elections together with other Russian regions. Equipment in being installed in LPR election commissions' offices which will be connected to the State Automated System (GAS) and training is being provided to staff.
"The LPR Election Commission confirms that all territorial election commissions will be connected to the GAS “Vybory” by the beginning of the voting this year," the official said.
The election campaign in Russia will start in the beginning of June. LPR residents will elect deputies to the Republic's parliament and local self-government bodies, including the Lugansk City Council.
GAS “Vybory” is a state information system intended for the automation of the election process. It offers integrated solutions for elections at all-levels including planning, voter registration, input of candidate data, ballot-casting, vote-count and statistical processing of results.
Pamfilova earlier said that the CEC had been making scheduled preparations for elections in the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions on the single voting day on September 10.*i*ie
