LPR militia demines seven hectares in Popasnaya district over 24 hours
Lugansk People’s Republic engineers have demined more than seven hectares of territory next to the Ivanovka village and Toshkovka township of the Popasnaya district over the past 24 hours, LPR People’s Militia spokesman Ivan Filiponenko said.
“LPR militia engineer units continue mine clearance in the Republic,” Filiponenko said. “On November 29, they cleared more than seven hectares of territory of the explosive hazards left by Ukrainian nationalists in the Ivanovka and Toshkovka settlement areas in the Popasnaya district.”
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
