LPR People's Militia has intercepted a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle outside Slavyanoserbsk, the Defence's spokesperson Ivan Filiponenko said.
"The Ukrainian 79th brigade launched, in violation of the Minsk Agreements, a Mavic-2-type UAV, manually remodelled to carry and drop an explosive device," the report reads.
The UAV was detected, intercepted and landed by a Triton M1 jamming team of the LPR People's Militia.
"The explosive device found attached to the UAV was destroyed. The data extracted from the drone's memory is being studied."
The UAV was moving towards Slavyanoserbsk, supposedly, to carry out strikes on civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.
Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs. *t
