LPR security officers find weapons cache of Ukrainian sabotage groups
Lugansk People’s Republic secret services have found a weapons and munitions cache apparently intended for Ukrainian subversive and reconnaissance groups, a LPR law-enforcement source said.
“The weapons cache contained munitions of foreign origin,” the source said. “It included assault rifles, Swedish M4740 grenade launchers, ammunition rounds, initiators and explosives.”
It was intended for "Ukrainian subversive and reconnaissance groups which planned to carry out acts of terror in the Republic." Law-enforcers are taking measures to identify the crime plotters, he added.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Earlier, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. On July 3, the LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.*i*ie
