Specialists of the “Lugansk Avtodor” state-owned unitary enterprise are repairing the bridge across the river Derkul in the Stanichno-Lugansky district, which was blown up by Kiev forces, the Lugansk People’s Republic government press service reported.
Two spans of the bridge were damaged in the blast engineered by Ukrainian servicemen at the third kilometer of the road from the “Krasnaya Talovka” checkpoint to Lugansk, the press service said. “LPR Transport and Infrastructure Ministry specialists have assessed the damage and drawn up a plan of repairs.”
“At present, “Lugansk Avtodor” workers are covering bridge spans with stones. After repairs which are due to be completed on Saturday, residents of the Krasnaya Talovka, Talovoye and Blagoveschenka villages in the Stanichno-Lugansky district will be able to come to Lugansk unhindered,” it said.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Earlier, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. As of now, some 80 percent of the LPR territory has been liberated.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks participants have announced ceasefire more than 20 times since the autumn of 2014. Kiev forces regularly violated the truce opening fire with large caliber artillery, mortars and tank guns which were to have been withdrawn from the contact line under the accords. *i
