Lugansk forensic experts identify three persons as Polish mercenaries
The Russian Investigative Committee (SK) said that forensic examination of the bodies of three people killed in the special military operation (SVO) zone has found that they were mercenaries from Poland.
“Ukraine is trying to conceal the personal data of foreigners; to complicate their identification, Ukrainian military representatives sever hands and heads from the victims’ bodies,” the SK press service said.
“The bodies of three persons with no IDs were delivered to the Chief Medical Examiner Office in Lugansk last week. Two bodies were missing the heads and hands. A search found mobile phones on them. The photos and videos retrieved from their phones helped to ascertain that these persons are Polish mercenaries,” it said.
The SK said that investigators supposedly established the identity of one of the victims whose body had not been mutilated. Later on, they found a man on social media who resembled the victim.
The SK said that it would continue to gather evidence for prosecuting the mercenaries from the countries that support the Ukrainian regime.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression on February 24, 2022. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.
