LUGANSK, July 20 (Lugansk Media Centre) – A man has been injured in Lugnask when the grenade he tried to disassemble exploded, the Republican Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

"A man (born in 1981) with blast injuries was found in a ravine behind one of Lugansk private houses on July 19. As police later found out, an RGD-5 grenade exploded when he was disassembling it. He was taken to the Lugansk Republican Clinic  hospital without regaining consciousness."

The RGD-5 ("Hand Grenade Remote") is an anti-personnel fragmentation grenade that produces around 350 fragments and has a lethality radius of 25 meters.

It is unknown as to why the patient decided to disassemble the grenade.

LPR Internal Ministry warns residents against any touching, tinkering, impacting or disassembling potentially explosive objects, UXO, ERW and any other suspicious devices. Everyone who discovers a suspicious object should immediately contact police or emergencies services, or dial 102.
