Specialists from Moscow and Lugansk will jointly repair the apartment buildings in the Lugansk People’s Republic capital which were damaged by recent Ukrainian artillery strikes, Luganskzhilkom company director Alexander Fogel told the Lugansk Media Center.
Kiev forces shelled Lugansk on May 12, 13 and 15. Strikes were delivered at the Yubileinoye neighborhood, two non-operating companies and the area of the former Air Force Academy.
Fogel said that damage had been caused to 19 apartment buildings, more than 270 windows and 2,500 square meters of roof. The authorities provided plastic film to tenants for temporary insulation.
“We’re carrying out defect identification ahead of the repairs; talks are underway with construction materials and window suppliers,” the Luganskzhilkom director said. He did not say how long the repairs might take.
Electricity and gas supply has already been restored to the houses which found themselves in the artillery fire area, he added.
