New Russian regions receive 4.8 million textbooks
Russia’s budget covered the costs of 4.8 million textbooks sent to the new regions, the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda reported citing Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov.
“Education authorities delivered 4,811,079 textbooks whose costs were covered by the federal budget (to the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions),” the report said.
The new regions also received 999 computer classes, 774 visual aid sets, 834 state symbols kits, 14,737 pieces of sport equipment and 25,787 pieces of school furniture.
“We’ve recently completed the school and kindergarten census to understand what resources this or that region or municipality will require,” Kravtsov said. “Some have catering or service lines problems, but we control the situation.”
The education institutions in the new territories have received 494 school buses.
LPR government deputy chairperson Anna Todorova earlier said that the Republic received 125 school buses and 276 laptop kits for computer classrooms in 2022.
The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda. *i*ie
