Kiev artillery attacks on the Lugansk People’s Republic last week claimed the life of one civilian; another eight people including a child were wounded, said the LPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC).   “Nine civilians became victims of Ukrainian armed formations aggression in the designated period (last week); of those, one person was killed and another eight were wounded including a child,” the JCCC said.   In January, 21 LPR civilians were killed and another 37 were wounded in Ukrainian artillery attacks, according to LPR ombudsperson Viktoria Serdyukova. A week before last, three people were killed and another seven including a child were wounded in the LPR in shelling by Kiev forces.   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
