More than one million residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions receive retirement benefits under Russian laws, the Social Fund reported on its website.
“Our specialists continue the work on granting pensions and on outreach to more residents to inform them about other social support measures,” the report quoted Social Fund chairman Sergei Chirkov as saying.
Russian pensions are paid to 373,000 residents in the LPR, 474,000 in the DPR, 140,500 in the Zaporozhye region and 54,000 in the Kherson region, the Social Fund said.
Pensions and payments under Russian laws have become available for residents of the new regions this year. The transition period when people can apply for Russian pension will continue until March 2024. A pension can be granted starting March 1, 2023 but not before commencement of the right to draw pension.
