One person was killed and several homes were damaged in the Kiev artillery strike at Lisichansk on Tuesday, Town Hall officials said on Telegram.
“On March 21, Ukrainian fascists’ artillery shelled a single family neighborhood in Lisichansk,” the Town Hall said. “Some ten enemy projectiles hit people’s homes. Many structures, windows and utility sheds were damaged; a man was killed.”
Lisichansk Acting Mayor Andrey Skory met with residents at the scene and issued urgent orders to provide assistance to the victims.
“A large family lives in one of the houses which came under fire. All the necessary construction materials will be delivered to help them,” a Town Hall official said.
“The enemy has shelled the town several times over the past week,” Skory said. “Only terrorists or fascists open fire at civilians’ homes. We’ll help all those who need help.”
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
