Russian sponsor regions are restoring more than 170 education centers in the Lugansk People’s Republic, an LPR official said at an LPR Government House press briefing.
“Overall, 31 sponsor regions are providing unprecedented assistance to the Republic’s education sector,” said LPR Education and Science Minister Ivan Kusov. “In 2023, they are carrying out various repairs on 110 general education facilities including 110 schools, three boarding schools, 57 kindergartens, two vocational training colleges and four supplementary education centers.”
LPR education centers received textbooks and fiction books from the Russian Education Ministry; the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade supplied 51 buses to LPR schools, he said.
Foot units are being assembled at 360 education facilities in the LPR which will meet one-third of the demand. The rest of the equipment will be delivered in 2024-2025, the minister said.
The LPR education sector also received new equipment, sport gear, laboratories for chemistry, physics and biology classes and musical instruments.
“A large number of kits is supplied to schools for pupils who are making the first steps in robotics engineering. They will be available for full use in the next school term. Overall, 5,600 such kits will be supplied to schools by the end of December,” Kusov said.
