Russian army destroys Ukrainian field ammunition depot in Svatovo district

Russian forces have destroyed a Ukrainian field ammunition depot near the Stelmakhovka village in the Svatovo district, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.   “On the Kupyansk axis, Task Force “West” units supported by aircraft and artillery, improved the situation on the forward line,” the report said. “Over the past 24 hours, they repelled four attacks by the Ukrainian army’s 25th Airborne Brigade, 95th Air Assault Brigade and 14th Mechanized Brigade in the areas of Sinkovka, Kharkov region, and Novosyolovskoye, Lugansk People’s Republic.”    An ammunition dump of the Ukrainian army’s 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade was destroyed in the Stelmakhovka settlement area in the Lugansk People’s Republic.   Enemy losses amounted up to 160 servicemen, five armored fighting vehicles, two cars, one US-made M777 artillery piece, one Polish “Krab” self-propelled howitzer, one US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer, one “Akatsiya” self-propelled howitzer and two US-made AN/TPQ-50 counterfire radars.   On the Krasny Liman axis, Task Force “Center” units and aircraft repelled two enemy attacks in the area of Chernovaya Dibrova (LPR). Strikes were delivered at four Ukrainian army brigades in the areas of Yampolovka,Serebryanka and Grigorovka (DPR). Up to 75 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, three pickups and one D-30 howitzer were eliminated.   “Air defense units shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft in the Staroraiskoye settlement area in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Three projectiles fired by high-mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS) and “Uragan” multipole rocket launcher were intercepted over the past 24 hours. Thirty-six Ukrainian drones were eliminated in the areas of Kremennaya and Krivosheyevka in the Lugansk People's Republic, Krasnaya Polyana, Beresotovye, Stepnoye and Gorlovka in the DPR and Vladimirovka in the Kherson region,” the Defense Ministry said.    ***   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression.
