Russian servicemen have foiled more than ten attempts by Kiev forces to break through into the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past week, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.
“Russian forces have rebuffed more than 15 attempts by Ukrainian armed formations to break through into LPR territory,” Pasechnik said in a post on Telegram. “Russian units <...> not only stopped the enemy thrust but also dealt heavy blows to manpower, ammunition depots and equipment in the enemy rear.”
The Ukrainian army lost up to 80 gunmen in the Berestovoye-Pereyezdnoye area in six unsuccessful breakthrough attempts,
Ukrainian armed formations lost up to 70 people in eight attempts to carry out offensive operation in the Novodruzhevsk-Grigorovka area,
Russian forces repelled three attacks on the Volcheyarovka - Ivano-Daryevka area which left 60 Ukrainian servicemen dead or wounded.
Motorized infantry, drone operators and artillery teamed up to find and eliminate
more than 15 pieces of Ukrainian artillery and mortars including one 155mm M777 howitzer,
more than 20 recoilless guns, anti-tank missile systems, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers,
five armored fighting vehicles,
eight cars including vehicles supplied by the West,
five field ammunition dumps,
seven permanent fire emplacements and earth and timber bunkers.
“Electronic countermeasures specialists foiled 27 attempts to enter the LPR air space. As a result of successful offensive operation, Ukrainian army units retreated from their position leaving up to 40 people dead in the battlefield. Russian servicemen seized ten heavy machine guns, anti-tank missile systems and recoilless guns,” Pasechnik said.
