Russian forces have repelled nine Kiev army attacks on the Kupyansk and Krasny Liman axes, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

“On the Kupyansk axis, Task Force “West” units, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems repelled six attacks by the Ukrainian army’s 43rd and 115th Mechanized Brigades and 25th Airborne Brigade in the areas of Sinkovka in the Kharkov region and Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours,” the report said.“Enemy losses amounted up to 50 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles and three cars.”

On the Krasny Liman axis, Task Force “Center” units, supported by aircraft and artillery repelled three attacks by 12th Special Operations Brigade and 21st and 63rd Mechanized Brigades in the areas of Kremennaya and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Yampolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Up to 80 Ukrainian servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles, three armored fighting vehicles and two pickups were eliminated on this axis.

Over the past 24 hours, 27 Ukrainian drones were shot down in the special military operation zone including the following areas: Shipilovka, Kremennaya, Sofiyevka, Zhitlovka and Zaliman in the LPR, Kirillovka and Zaitsevo in the DPR and Mirnoye and Nesteryanka in the Zaporozhye region, the Defense Ministry said.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.

President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022 to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.*i
