The Russian government has approved the resolution on the provision of free hot meals to primary school pupils in the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, said the government website “Obyasnyayem” which informs the population on current issues.   According to the document, schoolchildren in the 1st through 4th forms are entitled to free hot meals. If they live in the regions where high or medium emergency response levels have been announced by presidential decree, and have to learn from home, their parents will be provided with food kits for cooking meals at home.   The measure has to be implemented on a phased basis by September 1, 2023 pursuant to President Vladimir Putin’s instructions.  The federal budget will allocate more than 60 billion rubles for the purpose.   First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko said at the August Pedagogical Conference in Lugansk that primary pupils would be provided with hot means starting September 1, 2022.   The Lugansk People’s Republic, Donetsk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referenda.*i*ie
