Russian Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Irek Faizullin has made a working trip to the Lugansk People’s Republic to assess the rebuilding of social infrastructure and housing, the Ministry reported on Telegram.    “Together with LPR Government Chairman Sergey Kozlov, Faizullin assessed the progress in the rebuilding of social infrastructure and housing,” the report said. Repairs of water, heat and power supply lines are underway in all liberated areas of the LPR. The works are supervised by federal-level officials, the Ministry said. In the course of his visit, the minister inspected a temporary accommodation center in Severdonetsk.   “The master plan to develop the Severdonetsk area is in the works,” the Ministry said. “After visiting the Severodonetsk area, the minister met with LPR government officials and heads of the dedicated ministries and construction companies. He thanked the organizers and participants of the rebuilding projects and handed in state awards to the commended workers.”   Faizullin also passed quadcopters and binoculars to the military in the LPR.   In July 2022, Faizullin and Kozlov visited the war-ravaged towns of Severodvinsk, Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye to consider the priorities in rebuilding infrastructure and housing stock.   On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. The LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations on July 3.   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
