Russian university launches hotline for new regions
The Russian State Social University (RGSU) has launched a hotline for prospective students from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the LPR Education and Science Ministry press service reported.
The RGSU hotline staff will consult high-school students in the new regions on enrolment at Russian universities. “They basically want to know about admission requirements, compulsory subjects, onsite entrance examinations, university policy on academic achievement in Ukraine, applying for the Unified State Exam and organization of entrance tests for those who missed them for objective reasons,” the press service said.
“Some applicants have asked about fast track Russian citizenship and intensive courses in the Russian language and Russian history. Parents ask about the requirements for Ukraine-issued documents,” the LPR Ministry said.
“Comprehensive information support of schoolchildren and their parents regardless of the university they have chose is important during the transition period,” RGSU Rector Andrey Khazin said. “Previously, we launched hotlines for the schoolchildren evacuated from Donbass and mobilized recruits.”
The hotline staff includes skilled lawyers, psychologists and admission board members. The University will offer practical recommendations to people who have found themselves in difficult circumstances.
RGSU hotline 8 (495) 255 67 67 is available every day from 9:00 to 18:00.
