Six people, police official wounded in Lugansk explosion - Pasechnik
Seven people including acting Lugansk People’s Republic Interior Minister Igor Kornet have been wounded in an explosion in Lugansk, said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik.
The explosion ripped through Demekhina Street in central Lugansk in a rush hour. “Seven people were wounded; they were rushed to LPR hospitals,” Pasechnik wrote on Telegram. “Four men are in serious condition including a 17-year-old boy and acting LPR Interior Minister Igor Kornet. Medics are trying to save their lives.”
Dedicated agencies are looking into the incident, he said.
Military expert Lt-Col Andrey Marochko (Retired) said that the central Lugansk explosion showed that Ukraine’s military-political leadership had chosen to use methods of terror against LPR residents.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic acceded to Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
