Russia’s Pension and Social Insurance Fund has granted pensions to more than 800,000 residents of the new regions, Fund Chairman Sergey Chirkov said in the course of the “Parliamentary Dialogue” meeting at the Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament.

“We’ve granted 801,000 pensions in the period from March to October 15,” Chirkov said. “We continue to work very actively; I hope that we’ll review all applications soon.”

The Fund is also granting monthly allowances to people with disabilities, he added.

“We’ve already provided 155,000 such benefits <…> all applicants have received these payments,” Chirkov said.

More than 3.5 million citizens in the new territories are in the Fund’s database. The universal allowance and child allowances  were the first types of benefits the Fund started to pay starting January 1. There are almost 250,000 universal allowance recipients together with children in all the four regions, he said.

As of October 3, more than 300,000 LPR residents had requested the Social Fund to recalculate their pensions under Russian laws.*i*sb
