The Russian regions which provide assistance to the Lugansk People’s Republic helped it to rebuild more than 1,900 infrastructure facilities in 2022, LPR Construction and Public Utilities Minister Igor Zharkov said in the course of the Direct Line question and answer session.
“In planning repairs, we properly sorted out our priorities: last year, repairs were completed on 662 apartment buildings and 305 social infrastructure facilities including 146 schools,” Zharkov said. “We prioritized water supply, wastewater disposal, heat, gas and electricity supply, as well as the rebuilding of schools, hospitals and kindergartens.”
Plans are in place for 2024 and 2025 with an emphasis on road repairs, he said adding that Russian construction companies and utilities also helped to insulate damaged homes in the Severodonetsk district.
“We’re very thankful to the sponsor regions for accomplishing so much during a short period. The Lugansk region appreciates this assistance,” said LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik who took part in the question and answer session.
