Ukrainian forces have lost more than 135 servicemen on the Krasny Liman axis over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.   “On the Krasny Liman axis, “Center” Group units, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems inflicted damage on Ukrainian army manpower and equipment in the areas of Stelmakhovka and Nevskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Yampolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the report said. “Enemy losses on this axis over the past 24 hours amounted to more than 135 servicemen, one infantry fighting vehicle, four armored combat vehicles, two “Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers and one D-20 howitzer.”   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance.   The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
