Ukrainian artillery attack at Troitskoye leaves 9,000 customers without electricity - JCCC
Nine thousand customers were left without electricity as the Svatovo power grid electrical substation in Troitskoye was damaged in shelling by Kiev forces, the LPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine's war crimes (JCCC) reported.
“A missile fired from an American M142 high mobility artillery rocket system at the Troitskoye settlement damaged a substation of the Svatovo power grid leaving 9,000 customers without electricity,” the JCCC said.
The LPR Fuel, Energy and Coal Industry Ministry said that the power outage had affected “more than 9,000 customers in the Lisichansk district.”
A T-2 transformer of the 110kW substation caught fire which was quickly extinguished by emergency services, the Ministry said citing the Svatovo power grid.
The substation has sustained multiple damage: nine 35kW substations went offline as the T-1 and T-2 transformers differential protection was disconnected. Specialists will examine the facility in daytime to assess the damage and decide on repairs, the Ministry said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
