Ukrainian serviceman gets 12 years in prison for throwing grenade into civilian's apartment - SK
A court has sentenced a Ukrainian serviceman who threw a grenade into the apartment of a Severodonetsk resident to 12 years in a maximum security prison, the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee (SK) reported.
“The court found that the evidence gathered by the SK is sufficient for delivering a verdict for Ukrainian serviceman Andrey Neznamov,” the report said. “He was found guilty of the use of banned means and methods in the armed conflict, attempted murder and malicious damage.”
Investigators said that on May 25, 2022, Neznamov, a separate mechanized brigade serviceman, <...>walking along Gagarin Street, threw a grenade into the window of a kitchen while knowing that civilians could be inside. The grenade explosion wounded a woman and damaged her property,” the SK press service said.
The verdict is supported by the findings of psychiatric and technical expert examinations. The defendant pleaded guilty to the crime.
