Kiev forces used radio electronic warfare equipment to interfere with the operation of OSCE Special Monitoring Mission unmanned aerial vehicles in eight settlement areas, Lugansk People’s Republic People’s Militia press service spokesman Ivan Filiponenko said at a press briefing.
“We have exposed new facts of operation of mobile units from 20th Radioelectronic Warfare battalion to jam OSCE drones navigation channels in order to hide the deployment of military hardware from monitors,” Filiponenko said.
Kiev forces used electronic countermeasures against the OSCE drones in the areas of Schastye, Zolotoye, Zolotoye-2, Kamyshevka township and Smolyaninovo, Klinovoye, Kapitanovo and Bobrovo villages, he said.
“As a result of illegal actions by Kiev gunmen, the OSCE lost a drone in the Zolotoye-2 settlement area,” the LPR militia spokesman said.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.*i*r
