The YouTube video hosting has ignored the complaint of the Lugansk Media Centre state-owned information agency over deletion of its channel, Lugansk Media Centre editor-in-chief Sergei Meshkovoy said.
After the channel was deleted, the Lugansk Media Centre administration sent a complaint to the video hosting’s technical support, he said.
“All complaints are public; any user can see them,” Meshkovoy said. “Of course, we did not expect a quick response yet we hoped that they would explain the reason behind the channel removal. Imagine our surprise when several days later the video hosting blocked the opportunity to see and comment our complaint for anyone, and today, it was deleted altogether.”
“The outcome of the first attempt to evoke a response from YouTube to hooligan actions on its part was sad,” the editor-in-chief said.
“We’re not abandoning the hope to restore the channel and will send another complaint to the video hosting’s tech support,” he added.
In early February, YouTube removed the channels of the Lugansk Media Centre state-owned information agency, the LPR State Television and Radio Company and the press service of the Republic’s People’s Militia and LPR Ministry of Culture, Sport and Youth. It also deleted the YouTube accounts of the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia and the DPR Information Ministry. *i*s
