Ukrainian servicemen have begun to give up their attempts to attack the LPR territory after a series of defeats, said Hero of Russia and LPR Apti Alaudinov, deputy commander of LPR 2nd Army Corps and commander of the “Akhmat” special task force.   “Every day, we inflict huge manpower losses on the enemy who came down to dropping his attack plans,” Alaudinov said. “Their advancing deep into our territory (LPR) is out of the question.”   Kiev forces are now making all efforts not to lose their current positions, yet they are failing too, he added.   “I want to note that our units - 2nd Army Corps, the “Akhmat” special task force unit, and “Wagner” private military company - are working well on our stretch of the frontline; they have jointly accomplished much. In our area, the enemy is retreating while suffering big losses,” the “Akhmat” commander said.   Ukrainian servicemen have been making unsuccessful attempts to find gaps in defense line of the special military operation forces on the Lugansk axis, he went on.   “The enemy is trying to break through our defenses in certain areas which they believe have weak points, but every time they see that it was a mistake and retreat suffering big losses,” Alaudinov said.   The situation on the Lugansk axis has improved considerably in the past two months. “They counterattack in some areas but it’s a far cry from the situation two months ago when we daily repelled seven or five counterattacks along the whole front. Today, the number of counterattacks has decreased dramatically; each attack usually ends in their losing a certain number of fighters and equipment and falling back,” Alaudinov said.   The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014.  The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.   On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass residents from Ukrainian aggression. Prior to that, LPR and DPR Heads Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin asked the Russian leader to provide military assistance. The LPR militia and Russian armed forces fully liberated the LPR territory from Ukrainian armed formations on July 3.   The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*ie
