LPR pays lost property compensations to 309 families over week
More than 300 families in the Lugansk People’s Republic have received compensations over the past week for the loss of homes and essential property, the LPR government press service reported.
“The sum of lost property compensations over the past week has exceeded 171 million rubles; payments have been made to 309 LPR residents,” the press service said.
The Integrated Client State Service for the construction sector said that damaged home compensations at the rate of 6,000 rubles per square meter had been paid to 17 applicants (including five Severodonetsk area residents), and lost home compensations to 151 residents (43 residents from the Severodonetsk area) at the rate of 35,000 rubles per square meter from November 7 to November 14. According to the Service, 100,000-ruble lumpsum compensations have been paid to 141 (96) applicants.
As of November 14, 2022, 7,827 applications for lost property compensations had been submitted, up 317 from the previous week. As many as 6,419 (353) complete document packages had been submitted.
As of October 7, nearly 480 LPR families had been paid for the loss of essential property while 60 families had received compensations for the loss of homes as a result of hostilities.
LPR authorities began to pay compensations to residents for lost or damaged homes and essential property on September 9.
The LPR government said that essential property included refrigerator, gas (electric) stove, cupboard, table, chairs, bed (sofa), TV set (radio), water pump, hot water appliance and boiler (if centralized water and heat supply is unavailable).
Earlier, LPR Acting Head Leonid Pasechnik criticized Severodonetsk area authorities for slow consideration of lost property compensation requests and ordered to increase the number of experts in the commission which reviewed such applications.
LPR government resolutions set the procedure for paying lumpsum compensations for the loss of essential property and damaged or ruined homes. The authorities also launched hotlines for consultations.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. The peace talks that began soon thereafter failed to reach tangible results due to Kiev’s position to settle the conflict by force.
The Lugansk People’s Republic became a part of Russia on September 30, 2022 following the unification referendum.*i*v
